DESCRIPTION:Hello city explorers and fans of photography. This is a free event. Registration is required (RSVP). We encourage participants to also to and follow @tdot_shots on Instagram. \nLocation update: Meet at the David Pecaut Square (map link) near the sculpture and reflecting pool situated between Roy Thomson Hall and Metro Hall. We walk from Metro Hall east to Financial district and then St. Lawrence neighbourhood. \nWe love this downtown tour! All creators and photographers are welcome to join. Our focus is on photography and architecture. This photo walk takes place before sunset and will last approximately two hours. We start our meetup at 3:00 pm. \nThe walk takes place in the downtown Toronto central business district and east\, also known as “Old Town Toronto.” Typically we walk from Union Station or TD Centre to the Gooderham Building and St. James Cathedral\, passing many iconic Toronto landmarks such as the Financial District (TD Centre\, Commerce Court)\, Brookfield Place\, Front St. East and Berczy Park. \nWe walk slowly and point out unique spots to shoot. After the walk we encourage participants to explore the Front St and King St. neighbourhoods\, including St. Lawrence Market\, and St. James Cathedral. \nYou do not need to have a professional camera. Many participants shoot with smartphones. Many of us are happy to share photography tips! We look forward to welcoming you. We are celebrating our 6th anniversary and invite you to join us for a special photo walk and night photography workshop on May 11 (rain date May 12). \nOur guest\, Scott Visscher\, will demonstrate sunset and night photography techniques and lead us on a long exposure / light painting photography journey\, all with the beautiful Toronto skyline in the background. 🙂 \nFeatures of this event: \n\nbeautiful setting of Toronto island\nsunset photography of skyline\nnight and long exposure photography\nlight painting demonstration\n\nParticipants will be assisted by Scott and can expect that more experienced shooters in attendance will offer helpful tips. A DSLR or mirrorless is ideal but some of our attendees use smartphones. You should bring a tripod and be able to access settings for taking longer exposures (such at manual mode or shutter priority mode). \nBonus online access: approximately one week prior to the event you will be able to access a participant discussion post. Your ticket may also be used for discounted membership services at tdot.co. \nOur event takes place an hour before sunset. You will be able to travel to the island via the Toronto ferry service or water taxi. Buy your ticket for Toronto ferries in advance to save time at the gate. You must buy your own ticket. \nSuggestion (updated May 7): Organizers will be meeting by 6:00 pm sharp to take the 6:15 pm ferry to Centre Island.
