The creator writes:
“These images were taken on October 31st, 2023. After chasing sunrise at the nearby marina, I set out to photograph the last phase of fall colours before the leaves became completely bare.
I hadn’t quite captured the essence of autumn up to that point in spite of several tries. There were a few compositions I had in mind based on that location (Ireland Park), but as I arrived I could see more opportunities taking shape to capture the moment in a way I could call my own.
As each of the shots might suggest, I searched for angles that emphasized the rich colour and texture of the red maple leaves as they soaked up the glimmering sunshine. The city skyline and waterfront promenade were framed in beautifully by the trees and fallen leaves. My instincts told me to place a leaf atop the bench and align it with the CN Tower, which really brought the foreground of the image to life.”
