This meetup is for photographers who want to experiment and collaborate, and play with night photography. It is recommended to use a tripod for this photo shoot. The walk and photo shoot take place just before sunset and will last approximately two hours.
Night presents amazing opportunities for experiments with light and exposure time. This shoot is led by Mike Simpson, Tdot Shots and Tdot.cc coordinator, and special guest, Scott Visscher, night time photography enthusiast. Follow Scott on Instagram: @scottvisscher.

“I’ve been co-hosting steel wool workshops with Mike at Humber Bay for years, and they’re always an unforgettable experience. With the Toronto skyline and iconic bridge as a backdrop, I guide participants through camera settings and composition while handling the steel wool spinning to create dramatic light trails. No two spins are ever the same, and it’s a creative, high-energy night that combines learning, practice, and a lot of fun.”
Workshop Bonus
Participants will have an opportunity to view members-only content and discussion forum at our Tdot CC creative community site. Tips and techniques will be documented on the site and available one week prior to the event.
All are welcome. You do not need to have a professional camera. Many participants shoot with smartphones. However a tripod is recommended for all photographers. This event will be an opportunity to network and learn more about experimental photography techniques.
Meeting location: The meeting spot is TBA, but will be in the Humber Bay area. You will receive a confirmation email with exact locations for meetup in the late morning on the day of the event. Please add [email protected] to your address book.
Tickets: There is a fee of $15 to attend this meetup. You can pay via this site. After purchase an email is sent with a confirmation. If you don’t receive this email please contact us.
The fee helps us cover the cost of guest host’s travel and some of the materials and props. We will bring some fun stuff to shoot! You will be welcome to brainstorm and bring your own supplies! Keep in mind Halloween as a supplemental theme!
