Join us for an exclusive Street-Portrait Workshop & Richard Avedon Exhibit Tour! This multi-part meetup is led by Mike Simpson from Tdot Shots. About the Event

Our focus is on the balance of practice and theory—combining a hands-on street portrait session with a private gallery visit. The event takes place in downtown Toronto and will last approximately 2.5 hours.

This workshop and gallery visit is organized by Mike Simpson, educator, photographer, and founder of Tdot Shots. The event is produced by Tdot Shots in association with Tdot Create. Follow our page: @tdot_shots.

This meetup is a free, invite-only event limited to 30 participants. Please register early to secure your spot.

Highlights of the event:

Street Portrait Session: Practice directing enthusiastic models on the streets of downtown Toronto to capture authentic micro-expressions, movement and gesture.

The Image Centre Visit: Enjoy an exclusive gallery walkthrough with a docent to study Richard Avedon’s stark contrast, portraiture techniques, and image framing /sequencing.

Community Connection: Network and collaborate with fellow Toronto creatives in a supportive environment.

You do not need to be an expert portrait photographer to attend. Whether you shoot with a mirrorless camera, a DSLR, or a smartphone, this session offers valuable insights for all skill levels.
