Fall Series: Photo Walks and Walking Tours at the University of Toronto

It’s exciting to announce 3 events this fall at U of T aka the University of Toronto. First there is a walking tour led by photography and city enthusiast Mike Simpson, focusing on architecture and history on Oct 11. This is followed by two free photo walks that explore the east and west sides of the campus (details TBA soon).

Don’t forget we also accept private groups anytime – get in touch and we’ll be happy to arrange a tour.

Event Overview

Join photographer Mike Simpson on October 11 for a captivating photo walk tour of the University of Toronto’s St. George campus. This is your chance to explore one of the best photography spots in the city, a place rich with architectural and historical gems.

Testimonial from Mike, group leader and photographer:

The University of Toronto is one of my all-time fave locations in the heart of the city. It’s one of Canada’s major institutions and we are lucky to have this hub in the central area of downtown.

Some background: I am a U of T alumnus. I loved my experiences studying at the university. I’ve also been lucky to teach there in the summer English program. U of T is both a world ranked Top 20 university and its staff and students play important roles in the business, arts, scientific and cultural industries across Canada and the world.

There are many famous people associated with the school. Two examples I’ll discuss on the walking tour are Marshall McLuhan, a brilliant and revolutionary media theorist and Banting and Best scientist and student who discovered insulin.

Join our group, take some spectacular photos and learn more about the history of this charming campus.

This event combines a hands-on photo session with a guided historical tour, perfect for photographers of all skill levels.

On this walking tour, you’ll learn about some of the campus’s most notable figures and their profound contributions. Mike will discuss the legacy of Marshall McLuhan, the revolutionary media theorist whose ideas originated here, and the groundbreaking work of Banting and Best, whose discovery of insulin saved millions of lives. As we walk, you’ll have ample opportunities to capture stunning photos of the charming campus while learning the stories behind its most iconic buildings and spaces.

The group size is limited to just 15 people, ensuring a small, intimate experience where you can get personalized guidance and connect with fellow photography enthusiasts. This is more than just a photo walk; it’s an opportunity to take some spectacular photos and deepen your appreciation for the history and culture embedded in this magnificent campus. Don’t miss this chance to explore, learn, and capture the beauty of the University of Toronto.
