University of Toronto and Queen’s Park Early Fall Photo Walk Meetup on September 24

Welcome to the first photo walk of the fall season for 2023. We have a great lineup with about 12 events planned. Some photo walks are free and others have a small fee. Events with a charge are run like walking tours or workshops.

If you are interested in developing your photo skills and want to meet new people all these events are worth your while. You don’t have to have a pro camera – many people use a smartphone. All of us are enthusiasts and many will provide tips and encouragement.

About this Photo Walk Meetup

This U of T and Queen’s Park meetup will be a chance to snap some early fall photos. By my estimate leaf change is only around 5-10% but cool evenings can accelerate that.

Typically we find some maples are almost in full peak fall colour while other species such as oak take their time. Not to worry though, the few golden red trees that have started turning colour will add some great ambiance to your shots, particularly as we meet up at sunset which offers additional golden tones.

We meet before sunset. So our start time is 5:30 pm. This offers plenty of time for a slow stroll, some chatting, and adequate time to get your shots before the sun goes down!

We will probably cover the following locations:

  • Philosopher’s Walk
  • Victoria College
  • St. Michael’s College
  • Queen’s Park / Ontario Legislature
  • Soldier’s Tower
  • Trinity College

It’s a lot but we find we can do it within 90-120 minutes. Wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella. We walk rain or shine. Only in the event of extreme weather would we cancel.

Registration

This event is free but requires registration. Participants are updated by email in the late morning of the event day.
